Launched in April 2026, VYRH was established to address the practical needs of families navigating the North American educational landscape. The Hub is a non-commercial, community-driven initiative spearheaded by Phan Thi Quynh Trang, Founder and President of CVCEC. Developed and validated through the Urban Leadership Fellowship program at the University of Toronto’s School of Cities, VYRH equips Vietnamese students with the mindset and skills required for academic adaptation while creating structural mechanisms to preserve the mother tongue within the diaspora.

On a warm summer day in Toronto, the Canada–Vietnam Cultural & Educational Council (CVCEC) had the opportunity to meet Vietnamese traditional tea artisan Nguyễn Ngọc Tuấn—an individual devoted to preserving and sharing the spirit of Vietnamese tea culture for over three decades. The encounter became more than a conversation about tea; it was a reflection on heritage, identity, and cultural continuity within the Vietnamese diaspora.

On April 21, 2025, cultural leaders, education experts, and distinguished guests gathered in Hanoi for the event “From the Vietnamese Lotus to the Canadian Maple Leaf”—a meaningful dialogue aimed at strengthening cultural understanding and expanding educational collaboration between Vietnam and Canada. The event highlighted shared values of heritage, human development, and sustainable partnership.
