TORONTO, May 5, 2026 — The Canada Vietnam Cultural & Educational Council (CVCEC) attended the national Asian Heritage Month celebration at the invitation of Canadian Identity and Culture Minister Marc Miller.
The event opened with a protocol led by Elder Verna McGregor and recognized both the sacrifices of earlier generations and the achievements of young Asian Canadian leaders.
A Vietnamese Canadian member of Parliament served as master of ceremonies and addressed the Vietnamese Canadian community during the event.
CVCEC said taking part reaffirmed its focus on supporting Vietnamese Canadians as they move from “finding their place” to “leading the conversation,” and on helping the next generation contribute to Canada’s future through its language, culture and youth leadership programs.
CVCEC thanked the Department of Canadian Heritage for the invitation.
