THE HERITAGE JOURNEY: Celebrating Our Cultural Ambassadors

Published on April 26, 2026 at 5:59 PM

We are thrilled to share a heartwarming update on our Heritage Costume Donation Campaign. Since we launched this initiative, the Canada Vietnam Cultural & Educational Council (CVCEC) has received an overwhelming wave of support from the community.

Dozens of beautiful traditional costumes—including the iconic Ao Dai, Ao Tac, and Nhat Binh—have been gathered, each carrying a unique story of heritage and pride. These tà áo are now ready to cross the ocean and represent Vietnamese identity in Canada.

A Heartfelt Tribute to Our Sponsors

We extend our profound gratitude to the following patrons for their exceptional support. By contributing these precious heritage costumes, you have become honored "Cultural Ambassadors" of the CVCEC. Your generosity enables us to curate a living library of Vietnamese tradition, strengthening the cultural bridge between Canada and the world.

[PARTNERSHIP SPOTLIGHT]

Ms. Le An Na & The Institute for Cultural Research and Development

The Canada Vietnam Cultural & Educational Council (CVCEC) is deeply honored to announce our strategic partnership with Ms. Le An Na, President of the Institute for Cultural Research and Development (Vietnam). This collaboration marks a significant milestone in our efforts to bring authentic, research-backed Vietnamese heritage to the international stage.

A Visionary Leader in Cultural Preservation

Ms. Le An Na is a respected figure in the field of cultural studies, dedicated to the protection and sustainable development of Vietnam’s rich traditions. Under her leadership, the Institute for Cultural Research and Development has become a vital hub for scholarly research and practical initiatives aimed at preserving the soul of Vietnamese culture. Her profound understanding of cultural diplomacy and her commitment to educational exchange have made her an invaluable ally in our mission to connect the Vietnamese diaspora with their ancestral roots.

Strategic Support for Asian Heritage Month 2026

For the upcoming Asian Heritage Month in Toronto, Ms. Le An Na and her Institute play a pivotal role in endorsing and curating our cultural showcases. Her involvement not only lends academic prestige to our initiatives but also serves as a source of inspiration for the next generation of "Cultural Ambassadors." We extend our sincerest gratitude to Ms. Le An Na for her visionary guidance and for being a cornerstone of this heritage bridge between Vietnam and Canada.

DESIGNER QUANG HÒA: THE ARTISAN REVIVING VIETNAMESE "NGU THAN" HERITAGE

The Canada Vietnam Cultural & Educational Council (CVCEC) is profoundly honored to introduce a distinguished partner and "Cultural Ambassador": Designer Quang Hòa, a renowned name in the world of traditional Vietnamese Ao Dai.

A Journey Rooted in Tradition

Designer Quang Hòa’s love for the Ao Dai was ignited in his childhood, inspired by the cherished images of his grandmother and mother draped in this timeless attire. In 2002, he officially embarked on his journey as a fashion designer. With a distinct style and unwavering passion, he quickly rose to prominence, gracing numerous major runways and leaving a lasting impression on fashion enthusiasts across Vietnam.

After 11 successful years in the vibrant fashion hub of Ho Chi Minh City, he returned to the Imperial City of Hue in 2013 to pursue his deepest passion: The revival of the traditional "Ngu Than" (five-panel) gown.

A Generous Gift to the Community in Canada

To support CVCEC’s mission during the upcoming Asian Heritage Month 2026 in Toronto, Designer Quang Hòa has generously donated two brand-new, exquisite "Ngu Than" sets—one for men and one for women.

These masterpieces will travel to Canada to serve as living artifacts in our workshops and photo experiences. Thanks to his contribution, international friends in Toronto will have the unique opportunity to wear and feel the authentic craftsmanship of Hue’s heritage.

CVCEC extends our deepest gratitude to Designer Quang Hòa. Your generosity is a vital bridge that helps spread the pride of Vietnamese identity to the world.

By donating your precious costumes, you have officially become CVCEC’s "Cultural Ambassadors," helping us build a living library of Vietnamese heritage. Your generosity is the bridge that brings Vietnamese culture closer to the world.

Community Spotlight: Ms. Christina Do

Representing Vietnamese-Canadian Women Leadership

Among our contributors, we are pleased to introduce Ms. Christina Do. Since arriving in Canada in 2016, Christina has brought with her the same dedication to hospitality she practiced at a 5-star restaurant in Hanoi, where she had the honor of welcoming distinguished international guests, including the Queen of Denmark, Prince Henrik, and their family, as well as the Prime Minister of New Zealand, John Key, and his son.

Now a first and only Vietnamese Franchise Partner Second Cup Canada at Living Arts in Mississauga, she is known for her warm connection with local residents and her commitment to community service. Her contribution to our heritage collection is a thoughtful gesture that helps weave our shared traditions into the vibrant fabric of Canadian life.
