TORONTO, Feb. 1, 2026 — The Canada Vietnam Cultural & Educational Council (CVCEC) has begun initial discussions with the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) about developing and implementing Vietnamese language programs.

CVCEC thanked the TDSB for its openness and constructive engagement during the talks.

The organization said the Vietnamese language is more than a means of communication: it is part of the identity of many families in Canada and a bridge between generations.

CVCEC described the discussions as a first step toward deeper mutual understanding and long-term learning pathways for young people.
