This morning, the Metro Hall Rotunda buzzed with vibrancy and unity as we gathered for the official Opening Ceremony of Asian Heritage Month 2026. CVCEC Founder Phan Thi Quynh Trang and our Viet Youth Readiness Hub (VYRH) team were honored to join fellow community leaders for this monumental celebration of identity and contribution.

Reflecting on the Asian Impact
The event served as a powerful reminder of the resilience and innovation that define our community. A standout moment was the keynote address by Mr. Justin Poy, who offered insightful perspectives on the profound influence of Asian culture on Canada’s contemporary consumer trends and the arts. His reflections on the historical struggles and achievements of Asian pioneers were both humbling and inspiring, reinforcing the vital role we play in the Canadian narrative.
Our Commitment: Heritage as the Foundation of the Future
At CVCEC, we believe that heritage is not merely a link to the past; it is the cornerstone of a sustainable future. We are steadfast in our mission to ensure that international education goes hand-in-hand with the preservation and promotion of cultural identity. We see every Asian-Canadian individual—especially the younger generation—as an essential cultural ambassador, capable of bridging worlds and fostering mutual understanding.
Diplomacy Through Cultural Expression
Cultural diplomacy was at the heart of our presence today. We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to designer Quang Hoa for the exquisite Áo Nữ Ngũ Thân (traditional Vietnamese dress).
Wearing our national heritage on such a significant stage allowed us to share a tangible piece of Vietnam with our Canadian peers. The response was overwhelming; attendees were moved by the elegance of the design, and we were particularly honored to receive warm congratulations from the Mayor of Toronto, who took a moment to acknowledge the Vietnam delegation. That moment of shared admiration was a testament to the power of culture to forge bonds, build respect, and create a lasting diplomatic impact.
